Tesco clubcard personal data issue - wrong or right forum?

Huge apologies if this has been raised before or if I'm in the wrong place, I'm pretty new to the site and struggling a bit finding my way around.

So, I have a Tesco Clubcard linked to my Tesco credit card. My husband recently opened a new credit card and linked it to my clubcard as advised by Tesco. He did not need my permission to do this, just my clubcard number.

My April mailing came addressed to him, with his name on the vouchers, and when I logged into my clubcard account online it showed only his details.

I phoned Tesco and was told they could not sepak to me about the problem only him!!!

So I emailed a complaint and after a bit of toing and froing they have acknowledged there is a glitch in their systems, however they seem unable to completely revert all the details back to mine. Now when I log in online I see my info but the May mailing and vouchers still came addressed to my husband.

They have offered to reissue this mailing but cannot guarantee the details will be correct this time and basically they have said wait til August mailing and we hope it will be OK!

I realise we are only talking clubcard points here but I have two issues

1) in theory Person A could open up a new credit card and link it Person B's clubcard number and from then on get all Person B's clubcard vouchers in their own name. Even if Person B noticed Tesco would initially just tell them tough, we can only speak to Person A.

2) If Tesco are not able to fix such glitches in their systems should we be concerned about the security of our personal and financial data when they take over all banking responsibility from RBS shortly?

is this a breach of data protection that should be reported? Any advice/comments most welcome or if this has already been covered elsewhere on the forums I would be grateful for a link!

Many thanks

Yes there does seem to be an on-going problem with clubcards linked to credit cards.
I think, it may stem from the assumption that the Credit Card system goes by - that when they invite applicants to supply a clubcard no to link to the clubcard credit card, that it is in their name. Unfortunately too many are giving their husband/wife/partner's card, and as the credit card takes priority it goes it their name!
I trust in your case - your husband is sharing the vouchers with you!?
However, to sort it, now the mailing period has ended, and mergers and therefore de-mergers are enabled - you just need your husband to ring (preferably while you're there).
The account can then be restructured, ideally - in joint names. It means removing your CC's from his Cr/cd renaming them to you, and linking them together again in a joint account - you each have equal access.
I wouldn't advise splitting the account into individual accounts, he will get all your historic vouchers i.e. any unused ones!
I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard

I take it you haven't heard of Crucible & Zodiac (google it for info). Tesco know more about you than you do even if you have never shopped with them.
