Bank charge reclaiming. No use to us as we've never been charged fees by banks.
One day I might be more organised...........

£2.50 for direct debits. I used to be charged £30 a go! But I did claim back over £900 from Nationwide.

It WAS a good programme in that it attempted to clarify the true cost of these 'penalty' charges, therefore re-inforcing the fact that these 'charges' break the Consumer Protection Act and can, therefore, be considered illegal.
It could have done a bit more in explaining how to go about reclaiming these charges, although there was a fleeting shot of MSE website (for those who didn't blin  .
It certainly showed just how unconvincing the justification, by the banks, for these charges is.
I think a 30 minute programme was too short to give good coverage to an issue which affects such a large percentage of the population, and to 'hide' it on BBC2 probably didn't guarantee a good coverage.
However, fair play to the Beeb for bringing the problem out into the open - I hope it is followed up.
I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.
