Any teachers or home educators out there interested in some Scholastic books in PDF format for $1 each....
http://teacherexpress.scholastic.com/
A friend just sent me this link and although the site says the offer finished yesterday it just worked for me (9.30pm 1st June 2011). The site is American but you can pay via Paypal. I ordered 10 different books and all have downloaded for me. Some are a bit old and or Americanized but there are some interesting bits and bobs if you scroll through.

There is also a UK arm of Scholastic. They have warehouse sales three times a year. The next ones are coming up in imminently, infact the one in Belfast is currently on. Just go to https://www.scholastic.co.uk and search for "warehouse sale" and this should lead you to locations and times etc. The next ones are imminent in fact the ones in Belfast are on already. The ones I have been to previously have sold educator type books (fairly limited selection) and Hardback children's fiction books for £2 and children's paperbacks for £1.0

thanks for the uk scholastic site, i had a nosey around and discovered that some of the books for sale have free resource pages you can print out.
the horrible geography set has a few, as does the 100 assemblies book (these are a few that i've checked so far) so it's probably worth perusing the site just for these. once you find a book you like the sound of open the more info button in a new tab then scroll down you'll see some tabs that say things like 'in this pack' 'free resources' 'reviews' etc it's quick to see what has freebies and what doesn't! :T0 -

Glad to be of help. I don't know how often they do them as a friend just sent me a link about the dollar deals via Facebook. However, I've just checked and found you can get all their news and deals via their facebook page here:
http://www.facebook.com/ScholasticBookClubs
A quick scan shows they are doing a June dollar deal so maybe it's every month.
Did you know that if ever you are looking for a particular book and want to do a search to find the cheapest price over a number of sites (not including bookpeople or redhouse though) you can try https://www.bookbutler.co.uk ?“A journey is best measured in friends, not in miles.”
