I have been incredibly fortunate to win a £3000 shopping spree at Debenhams with Virgin Radio's Christmas competion (can't believe it, I've never won anything before) The thing is I have to spend all the money in one go (I'm certain that's more difficult than it might sound)
Can anyone offer any advice as to how to get the best out of this. I know the shopping spree will be at the Big Debenhams in Oxford street but would like to know what the big departments in this store are, Does anyone know?
I'd really like to kit out my living room but do Debenhams still stock furniture in their stores?
I've looked at the online store but many of the items say they are only available online.
I hope some of you seasoned comp'ers can advise as I don't want to waste this fantastic opportunity and end up buying unsuitable things because I'm all flustered

Congatulations  you must be really excited If it were me i would make a trip there before you need to spend the vouchers so that you can use them on what you really want.

make a list of the items you really want don't forget to write down sizes for furniture etc so you know it will fit in the space youve got ,better still if you are trying to concentrate on one room do a room plan with colour swatches so it will all fit and match0

and if you have lots of money left to spend in there towards the end, just buy electrical items like tv's, dvd players/xbox 360 /psp if they have any in the store as you can always sell them afterwards on ebay ect and make some decent cash from them! (just a thought though) we dont have a debenhams here so i dont know what they sell in store.

What about some nice new bedding, and a feather duvet and pillows, and the same for the spare bed(s), then some lovely fluffy towels, a dinner service, a nice boxed cutlery set - that'll probably be a grand!
Measure your windows in case you see some curtains you like. Rugs, cushions, new Christmas decorations.
Or just buy £3000 vouchers to spend whenever you like!:D
Enjoy you lucky thing!:TIf you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -
I would buy a full dinner set of lovely denby stuff (about £15 a plate  ).
Lots of nice clothes for me and hubby.
Nice skincare and makeup - esp. Clarins, Clinique and Estee Lauder.
New pans, and kitchenware, esp. posh casserole type things that cost an arm and a leg . Also glasses etc.
New kettle, toaster etc.
The one in Edinburgh has a small furniture bit, but really just stools for kitchens and the like, so don't think you've got much luck there, unless Oxford street is AMAZINGLY huge, and ours is fairly big.
Am so envious!0 -
What an Idea!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You could buy me a nice Crimbo Present as i have nobody to buy for me:eek:
Only jokeing i wouldn't dream of asking really.
Have a nice spend though.
What about getting a few cheap toys and wrapping them up and take them to your local childrens ward for the kids that are in there over Christmas, just an idea.0 -
I do think that its a bit unfair. You have won a fantastic competition, but having to spend it all in one go is mad! How are you surposed 2 get it all home?!! Its going to cause you alot of stress, I don't see why they couldn't give you vouchers (Maybe special ones with your name so U have 2 show ID 2 redeem cz'v Ebay etc) Can you not discuss it with them at all?I'm getting older, and lifes getting harder!:mad:0

Congratulations.
Maybe you could get to speak to the store manger or do they have a personal shopper who could help you and do a reckie for you before hand. Find out a bout furniture.
Good luck spending it.

Well done! Why don't you go to a larger store and plan like people have said. We've got one in Birmingham that has lots of stuff in. Happy shopping - enjoy it and treat yourself to lots and lots!
