It depends on how much bone is needed and in what sites. Sometimes an artificial bone slurry is used , sometimes bone harvested from elsewhere in the jaw and sometimes bone is taken from the hip.
It's not as bad as it sounds and at worst you will have a bit of a sore hip for a while but the amounts of bone taken are relatively small .
All of this will be explained when you give informed consent for the proceedures.0 -

Thanks for the heads up!! I'm assuming it would be the hip or the artificial stuff as I don't have much jaw lmao0 -
IIRC it's usually taken from the very back of your jaw (the ramus) behind where the last tooth would be. Usually there is Plenty there. Otherwise as b2j said, the hip.0
