My son has not been paid for his work -- what to do???

I say so because he told me so.
And I notice that you suspect the worst. But that is your problem, not mine. His tax status is irrelevant to my question, and I really have too scratch my head when a member asks a simple question and instead of answering it helpfully, all kinds of subtle and not-so-subtle accusations emerge: tax evasion, stupidity of not going himself to the hotel, being a domineering mother. What has all of this to do with the question????
It's got everything to do with the question. If he has a bona fide tax status, then he can be determined an employee. If it was cash in hand, that is a totally different matter altogether and he is a freelancer, despite what he says.0 -
Well, the cheque arrived today so all is well!
Thanks to everyone!
Bendix, it was your tone, through your wording, and that of others, which was the point of contention. There are different ways to say the same thing.0 -
It is very easy to misconstrue what is being said on a forum.
What I did object to in this thread is the persistent naming of the hotel in question - this was totally unnecessary.
Anyway I am glad that your son got his payment.0
