Phoned the registry office today - told them we were having our own music, and they just wanted a list of songs that we would be bringing? not sure why - perhaps they want to judge our taste in music lol!!

What songs are you having? I'm not decided but 'Wonderwall' by Oasis is our song but unsure if its music to walk into the room with!!! must start deciding!!!

Yes, they will not allow you to have any song that could be considered religious, or have any religious references, for example you could not have Angels by Robbie Williams, or Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen, and also you can not get around it by having the instrumental version either.

We had a music from films theme and were most perturbed when we realised we couldn't have Hallelujah (Shrek!) :-)

    Good luck with your choices.

Yup - this is what I was trying to explain in an earlier post :)

That annoyed my OH who is a muso and wanted to choose some classical pieces at first. Several he liked are old classical bits of music that were later turned into hymns ie they just added words to established old music. That happened loads apparently in the past, but it means that we wouldn't be allowed to have them as they'd only be known now as hymns.
