Sainsburys £1 dvds.....

I saw the offer today that Sainsburys were doing some dvds at £1, including Twilight saga: New moon... so i went in today and it was stickered at £3, which is still cheap but i asked one fo the staff about if ti should be £1 and she said no its definatly £1. i said it was being advertised as £1 and she said it should not be :-(
could not find the bon jovi one either :-(

But i still brought the twilight new moon :-D

Anyone seen it advertised for £1 in sainsburys?

If you saw it advertised, have proof of it and take it to show them they can get in deep dodo. False advertising, you have to honour that price. I work in advertising.

our local asda had a few dvds for a quid last week, but nothing special. more of a 'bargain bicket' if you get my drift
find a deal....pass it on
  • In a previous post it says a shop "has" to give you it for price advertised and i know this may seem unfair but i have worked as a supervisor in retail for some time now and that is incorrect a retailer does NOT HAVE to honor the price advertised if it has changed they can simply take the product off sale for 24 hours and as much as you kick & scream and tell them that they have to honor a price advertised you wont get anywhere. Your better off being pleasant and in majority of cases you will get your own way :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D
  • thats one of my favourite quotes from irate customers! 'you have to honour the price' mmm, no we don't! the product is the property of the retailer, and if we decide not to sell it or not to sell it as advertised thats our prerogative!

also, it doesnt have to be taken off sale for 24 hours, ive heard a few people say that but its not true at all. a price is legally an 'invitation to treat' it means a customer can identify a product, and say to the retailer please can i buy this product for this price. the retailer has every right to say no, but you can buy it for..........

the only time a shop would get into trouble, is if there was repeated, and or deliberate incidents of miselading pricing, or intent to mislead. as said before though, just be nice to the shop staff and they will usually honour it, but ultimately, they do not have to.

If you work in advertising you should know the difference between a binding contract and an invitation to treat. stores DO NOT have to sell you goods which are mispriced
