Child modelling agencys

Options
I know some people frown upon this but i would really like to get my son into modelling.
Can anyone recommend a good agency in midlands area (im in nottingham) that doesnt charge sign-up fees etc and are excellent?

My son loves posing for the camera and even strangers comment on how cute he is and that he should do modelling

  • Sorry I cannot be of more help.

EKA are a good agency although the charge £179.00 for a photoshoot, you can submit your own but they have pretty strict conditions to meet unless you have access to a photostudio.

I'm sure I've heard on one of those numerous consumer tv programmes that you should never pay an agency for photos and that the reputable ones will gladly accept your own photos. Any that do charge are a waste of time. That's what I've heard anyway.

Edit: A quick search of the net appears to show that EKA may fit into the "scam" category.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Bizzykidz are a big agency, they charge a one off fee but you can submit your own photo's as updates.

Or you can pay extra for professional shots at discounted rate or pay a annual fee for inclusion into their look book.

They have been growing rapidly over the last few years and say they have tonnes of work.

    Good luck

That's because a lot of them like to have their finger in the scam pie.
Reputable agencies do not need to charge and DO NOT need professional shots in order to take on people.

DO NOT PAY FOR PROFFESSIONAL PICS OR A SIGN UP FEE TO JOIN AN AGENCY!

ok sorry if the bold capitals seems offensive but its standard rule and once you read that their is no other questions that need to be asked. If an agency want you to pay then walk away, they are probably at it. Modelling and this includes child modelling has get rich quick written all over it!

If you dont have any success then Im sorry to say but it may just be that its not your industry or in tis case your childs industry. Everybody will tell you that your child looks cute, its social convention, try asking them to take a photo and pay you for it makes it a whole differnt ball game, they call it modelling.

Btw my gf made an attempt at modelling, got 1 job and earned £200 but has had nothing else come her way. Tho we put a lot of work into finding a photographer that would take free pics. try students or new photography businesses needing photos for portfolios or even a keen ameature. I would say my gf wasnt successfull, but she got her moment of glory appearing in a magazine once, 15 mins of fame and all that stuff.
Here to help and be helped!

Yep, best bet is to find photographers looking to build their own portfolios - many are willing to reach a 'time for photos' agreement - you give up your time to model, and in return you get a copy of the pics for your own portfolio.
