Part of me hopes so - I find them to be quite a devious business.
See here:http://biancasbeautyblog.blogspot.com/2010/08/equazen-eye-q-omega-3-capsules.html and here: http://www.quackometer.net/blog/2007/12/equazen-eye-q-and-their-fishy-adverts.html0 -
I hope they have not: they were one of the few brands of Omega 3 which worked for me, did actually make a difference.
I used to have back problems about 7-8 years ago. I was advised to take fish oils and for some reason bought Eye-Q. I noticed my back pain went away after about 2 weeks/a month and thought it probabaly went away by itself, stopped taking the pills, decided they either had done their trick or didn't work in the first place, either way I was a student and I wasn't going to be paying for these things forever, decided they couldn't have done anything all they were was oil!
A fortnight later the back pain came back after a yoga class. I thought I must have pulled it again, waited for it to pass and it did not pass. It was really irritating and obviously preventing me doing things half as easily as normal. In the end I remembered the eye-q pills and took them again in desperation thinking they wouldn't do anything... I just wanted to go to the doctor and give the impression I had done everything I could to help myself so they wouldn't suggest things and tell me to call back another day/waste my time but the pain again went away!
This same cycle of me refusing to believe the pills could do anything repeated itself over and over for a good 2 years before I submitted to the fact that the only way I could secure myself against back pain was to take these pills.
I did read up on them and found that the quality of fish oils make a difference. I do also find a difference in some brands and hate to say it but the cheaper brands tend to be the ones I take but which don't help me. Yes there are other brands but few that work are as easy to take.
And btw I never took the full 8+ a day ever! I think the max I ever took in one day was 6 even to begin with with the average being 4 a day.
I should state here if you have back pain, go see a doctor, don't base any self diagnosis on me I am just stating what worked for me, back pain can be caused by many things and it just so happened mine was helped by fish oils.
There are other brands but I really liked the Eye-Q version and found it was one of the few I could trust to make a difference to me.0
