Nice problem

for once a money problem that isn't unpleasant...
I'm self employed and one business I do freelance work for gave me an envelope at a meeting yesterday, with instructions to treat myself (emphasis heavily on the fact that it should be for me). So when I got home I discovered it is £50 of Marks and Sparks vouchers.

Now I could blow the whole lot on some nice food for Christmas (although we have some nectar points and lucheon vouchers saved for that) or I could spend it on me, or stuff for the rest of the family, or the very few Xmas pressies left to buy (assuming that I can get what I want to buy in Marks and sparks)
Currently I'm swaying towards the idea of buying something (new jeans or suchlike-something quite practical) for me and spending the rest on food or wine.
So audience, it's over to you...

personally Id buy myself some new clothes in the M&S sales- you get some cracking bargains in the M&S sales. I got a 55 quid kimono for 7 quid last year. and loads of undies ;)

    so thats what Id do!
 Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
    This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast
  • I agree with lynzpower - I live quite close to an M&S outlet shop, and their sale and clearance stuff are always full of real bargains :D

I'd spend about half before Christmas on a bit of luxury food (probably some massive desserts and a couple of nice bottles of something), and keep the rest for the outlet shop or Per Una sale... whatever you do, enjoy your treat! :xmassmile

Mmmm - difficult - but you could give some of the vouchers as pressies now or at a later date having spent a certain proportion on yourself?

I'd go with the clothes in the sales option - you won't get much more than a pack of sausages rolls and a yogurt in the food hall. :p
  • I'm glad I posted this now, doh! never even thought about the sale! OK so I think I shall spend £20 on wine and save the rest for the sale. If I can cope with actually shopping at that time of year!
That way OH and I get to treat ourselves to a couple of nice bottles for Christmas and I get some new stuff after
