Sorry, not true in my case!
I bought these last night, which are the ASOS brand, and "Extra20" worked fine for me (and I had used the same code previously on a Paul's Boutique bag).

As samutiana said, you can win discount codes by playing the game on ASOS' Facebook page once hourly It's either 10% off anything, 20% off accessories or £20 off £100 spend. They're only valid for two days though so it's probably only worth playing if you know there's something you want to buy!
