Loan or Playing the Credit Cards

Hi all,

what would be the best way to get around £10k cash?

Would you go for a loan (3-4 years) or would you try to get it from 0% Credit cards?

Re-paying the loan (or overpaying it) would not be an issue, but I am tempted to play the credit cards as I believe the balance transfer charge would be lower than the interest on the loan?

I would appreciate if anyone with some experience could comment on this please.

Many thanks.

Dave

If you can get 10k on cards (have you had a similar amount on them before? if not, i wouldnt get your hopes up), and you have the willpower to stick to the plan (ie pay them off, not use them for any other spending), then that would be the no brainer imo.

My current credit card limit is just over 12k and I hardly use it, and if I do use it I pay my debt off before the end of next month so I don't get any interest charges.

I currently may need the 10k to lower my mortgage enough to get a good deal when I re-mortgage... and unfortunately for me, I have to re-mortgage this year.

So basically I am just looking to get those 10k the cheapest way possible.

Would it be possible to get those 10k from my credit card (Lloyds) into my current account and then do a balance transfer to a 0% credit card?
