The LLOYDS TSB Save the Change scheme revisited.

Use your debit card for purchases in February and March.
Use it as many times as possible for low cost purchases.
Optimum purchase per debit card transaction £1.01

You buy some item(s) for £1.01
debit card charges £2.00
£1.01 for goods £0.99 for your savings.
Then in due course the £0.99 is doubled to make £1.98
So having spent £2.00 for an item worth £1.01
You are now rebated your own excess payment of 99p
and an extra 99p and so the £1.01 item has cost you 3p
Thus you have approximately a 97% discount.

Technically the rebate of the additional 99p is interest.
and so it will be taxed at 20% unless you submit an R85.
Pay a further 29% if you pay the 40% tax rate.

The maximum rebate each month is £50 pre tax
So maximum is a total of £100 pre tax
