I need some tapes - not overly fussy about brand as long as they are good quality.

Can anyone recommend a good place to buy?

Am prepared to buy a pack (say, up to 10) if the discount makes sense.

Try amazon. The market place sellers have the following:

3 pack of panasonic Panasonic Mini DV tape SP 60/LP 90 min for £1.51 plus p+p of £5 (fixed by amazon) = £6.51

or

3 pack of Sony MiniDV 'Premium' Colour 60min for £2.99 + 5 = £7.99
