Teach a parrot to talk

Options
Hi,
I have just bought an African Grey Parrot who is 14 weeks old.
I have been told it is too young to talk yet but would appreciate any tips for the future.
Any other tips regarding African Greys would also appreciated.
Thank You

As most of you know our home is controlled by two yappy terriers, my sister came for the week with her parrot who doesnt talk....My sister hates my dogs and is always shouting .Shut up you little.........s!
we went out for the morning shopping on our return the usal welcome yap from the dogs but low and behold the parrot joined in with ,
    Shut up you little....s
. she was gobbed smacked!!! ;D
So moral of tale is, keep repeating the phrases.
my bark is worse than my bite!!!!!!!!

make a recording of you talking and play it on repeat when you're not in the room / out of the house.
  • Thank You for the tips i will give them a try. Although when i was talking to him this morning i sent him to sleep ;)
  • This may sound stupid, but i've heard that if you put your parrot in a closed box (make sure not to suffocate him) and say the words you want him to repeat, he may say them after you.

Don't laugh out if this sounds funny. Thought i'd put down what i've heard.

    Thnx
    Terry
