Premier Law Ltd.

Options
Hi. My husband had a letter froma company called Premier Law Ltd. recently, claiming they are able to recover unfair fees from his previous mortgage with Hadenglen. Whilst we are pretty sure that he is entitled to recover these fees, we are a bit in the dark about Premier Law Ltd. When my husband phoned them, they said they would send someone out to talk to him the same day, which set alarm bells ringing for me. Has anyone dealt with this company in a similar capacity????

What makes you think you are entitled to reclaim fees? Fees for arranging a mortgage are quite acceptable.

The company have been mentioned on here in the past but like most claims companies, they dont do anything you cant do yourself for free.

  • Thanks for the reply, but these were unfair fees, and he was mis-sold insurance. I probably didn't make myself clear. The mortgage company in question has been fined by the Financial Services Authority. The only thing I was questioning is whether it is common practice to send someone out to your house like this without asking for any information to back up the proposed claim. I just think it's all a bit odd, and don't want to be pressured into anything!
  • Hi Sally just to let you know I found out that Premier Law Ltd is not a solicitors it is just a referral company who take around 30% commision. Try get legal Aid through your citizens advive or get a free consultation with a solicitor. hope this helps

Just wait for them to come back and give you a bunch of BS reasons why they think you can get your debts written off. Then if they ask you for money up front then you know its a scam. If they dont want money up front or at any stage (as some actually catch you by saying no charge but then hit you later for a charge to move it onto the next stage) then perhaps consider it.

General rule of thumb, never pay money up front.

The biggest scam company was Cartel. £20,000,000 taken off people in £495 up front fees. They went on to collapse when the courts ruled in favour of the lenders in all the test cases and set benchmarks which basically made it a doddle for the lenders.
