Hi, unfortunately it's in the credit agreement that they will charge this as i have learnt through my dealings with this company.

Despite the fact that i was on an agreed arrangement with them, they still cleared my bank account on my payday leaving me with practically nothing.

Part of me is glad i no longer have to deal with them but my mortgage and council tax fell into arrears as a result.

I would cancel any cards that WDA have the details of and keep a check on your direct debits to ensure that they do not set one up without your knowledge.

Regarding the charge, i would offer to pay them today by bank transfer for the £187 (do not give them your card details) and tell them that you will repay the £36 by bank transfer at an affordable amount each week or month. As far as i know, they cannot charge you anymore on a balance that is purely made up of a charge.

It's very easy for me to say this now but please, please avoid payday loan companies as it's a spiral that is very difficult to get out of

    Should have paid Yesterday.
As you have discovered, you simply cannot leave it until the due date to ring and make payment.
They would have attempted the withdrawal at about 00:01 this morning.

We have loads of posts where people argue this point but the end result is the same, the withdrawal attempt failed so has incurred a missed payment fee.

Some advice - DO NOT use your wifes card to make this payment. Once they have it on file they may well revisit her account to retrieve any other fees they have decided to award you.

Transfer the money into your account and you pay them yourself.

Having looked around the website I cannot find mention of when they will attempt to take the money other than on a specfic day or a list of charges if the direct debit fails.

Prehaps these things are shown after you apply for a loan, in which case their is little you can really complain about.

If however there is nowhere it says about the charges or time of day payment is required by, then depending on how much you want to push it, you could say you have attempted payment on the day and have not been informed that the money was due out at any specfic time, therefore you think it unfair to make a charge, when they still have payment on the day you agreed to.

It's a long shot but up to you. If you do decided to complain, you should send a recorded letter to them.
