You can now create a unique gift, commemorate a special occasion or say "thank you" in an original way by personalising a bottle of The Famous Grouse Finest Scotch whisky.
Our new “Famous” label customisation service is fun and easy to use and enables you to simply add your choice of name in place of "Grouse" to the front label. A special message can also be added to the back label. Compose your own message or use one of our suggestions to help get you started.
The result is an inspiring, original gift which is sure to delight the recipient. Their only dilemma will be whether they should keep the bottle on display or celebrate the occasion by drinking the wonderful whisky inside!
Why not make the next special occasion a “Famous” one?

Thanks for this, just ordered Dad one for xmas. I was struggling as to what to get him and he will LOVE this. Ordered it with family surname on it...
Great find - thanks0 -
Looks very good fun.

I did one of these as a gift in September - they are really good. My friend helped me come up with a great little poem for the back label, all about the person it was for.
I ordered on a sunday, and had a phone call that sunday, to tell me the wording didnt quite fit as a lined poem, so could they do it as one full sentence, but with the commas and full stops. great service I thought!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

Since this is a money saving forum...
Does anyone know where you could get good quality labe paper from to make your own labels for various bottles?
A bit of warm soapy water would soon get the old one off and it could be replaced by one of your choice... if you have the time, skill and inclination!0 -
Hi
Just to let everyone know, i order one of these for my dad for fathers day! I was really impressed with this and it does look good! If you look at it closely though, they havn't botherd removing the original label from underneath, and my personalised label had just been stuck on top, I only noticed it because my new label wasn't stuck on totaly straight! Is a good gift though, but was dissapointed with the finish, seeing as it cost me £18.99 plus £4.99 postage!0 -

So that's £22.94 for a BOTTLE (70cl) of Famous Grouse
Whilst it might be a "cute" idea with the label this is Money WASTING from any point of view. (paticularly if you can scan an original, modify it on your PC and print a new personal label yourself)
I'm sure given the choice anyone receiving this gift would sooner have TWO LITRES of Famous Grouse rather than 70cl and a label that says Dad, Mum, Fred etc....
and the person sending the whisky need spend little more.
Go to ASDA - currently LITRE bottles are reduced to £13
BUY 2 of them for £26
Hand in some money off coupons for at least 10% of this amount (£2.60
Result 2 litres for £23.40

My gift wasnt like that, and I'd have complained and asked for a new one if it was!
As for money saving (quoia), no it isnt the cheapest way to buy whiskey. However my FIL uses his personalised bottle and refills it, so it is a reasonably cheap way of buying him a personalised decanter!!*** Friends are angels who lift us to our feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly ***

It's common knowledge that popping down to your local supermarket and getting 2 bottles would be better value, but that isn't the point of this thread anyway!
As for scanning in an original label I wouldn't even go there if you want a quality finish (unless of course you manage to get the label off the bottle in 1 go.) But if you can find a decent quality Famous Grouse label online and you're nifty with an editing programme, then you'll have a nice and cheap personalised label - now that is what I call money saving
Had a quick look but I could only find smallish labels though.0 -
Ordered one of these (see post above), it is FANTASTIC, Dad will love it. He will be able to drink the contents then go and get cheap whisky and re-fill it over and over again. Trouble is, the label is the wrong way round for him to put it in his optics !!! never mind
Thanks for the post mouse_potato x0
