Hi
Long time lurking but never needed to post until now.
Myself and my girlfriend are looking to buy our first property. Im in a position where my mum is giving me a large (£100k) deposit, and we have seen a house for £160k that we want to buy.
We have some debts totaling around £25k between the two of us that we plan to pay off, so we will need a mortgage of around 85k.
I havent got the best credit rating, defaulted on a loan which is with a debt management group (still get letters from RBS with outstanding amounts etc), my girlfriend has got a little bit of credit (just got a credit card) so building her credit rating up.
I was going to look at going to an advisor, but was looking to try and save money and sort the mortgage myself, but cant seem to find any subprime/poor credit lenders - can anyone recomend someone, or is it best of to an IFA?
many thanks
dan
