Property research company Hometrack said prices were 3.7 percent lower in May compared with a year ago, the biggest decline since October 2009.
The usual excuses are dragged out, easter falling within its usual window, bank holidays, leaves on the ladder...
My favourite bit:
"With concern over household finances and the wider economic outlook, demand for housing is likely to continue to post further modest declines over the summer," Donnell said.

You make a good point. A survey rather than reliable evidence on sold prices or mortgage approvals. Thanks.
Anyway, Hometrack now equal Halifax in showing the largest YoY falls (and even Halifax don't believe their own figures).0
