Easyjet Boarding -= Belfast International

Wondering if we should add speedy boarding to our summer flights to costa del sol this summer as first time flying with 3 children.
Has anyone any experience if this is worthwhile flying out of Belfast - would really appreciate any comments before parting with my £55 :(

What age are the children? If they (or even 1) of them are young enough then you could join the special assistance queue which boards after the people with speedy boarding. Could be an option to save the money and keep it in your pocket maybe?

If any of your children are under 5 (it may be 5 years or under but you'll need to check) then you get to board straight after the speedy boarders and before the vast majority so no need to waste your money.

I'd be more inclined to worry about sitting together. Do Easyjet guarantee this now or do you have to pay for that too?

They are all over 5 so dont get special assistance. I just worry that i will pay for it and it maybe doesnt make much difference to boarding order etc. It is only priority boarding still doesnt seem to guarantee seats together

If you get to the airport early enough - I've heard 3 hours before your flight suggested? - you ought to get into boarding group A and be able to board after the speedy boarders and those with small children / requiring special assistance. Personally I think speedy boarding is too much money, brings easyjet prices to the price of other airlines that allocate seats. That does depend on where you're going though.

Speedy Boarding is not really worth it as once you have passed through the final check in, the staff usher you to wait for the plane, whereby any other person who fancies it can and normally they do run past you meaning you have wasted your money.....

Just my opinion as we used to use speedy boarding but where no better off using it, should have saved the money

Speedy boarding is more useful at check-in where you can save quite a lot of time using the dedicated desk. Boarding is a lottery especially in Europe where they use a lot of remote stands and buses. You also need to be at the gate 40mins before departure otherwise they'll board the aircraft and you'll get stuck with the group 2 pax at certain gates because they block the access the the sb line. The worst gate for this is gate 18 at BFS

One of my big travel frustrations is Easyjet at Aldergrove, people just rush past you and with 1 member of staff to at least 100 passengers they are pretty much powerless, I would def not be paying for speedy boarding....

Personally I find that easyjet boarding is a big pile on, speedy boarding or not. If you check in online you get priority group A, I think
