Credit Expert

Options
Hey guys
I wasn't sure where to ask this but as i'm checking to see how my credit is for getting a mortgage i thought here might be ok!
How accurate is Credit Expert for checking your own credit rating? Am i seeing what a company would see when they do a credit check?
Many thanks

It will show you the same information that a lender will have access to.

If it allocates a score, that score is completely meaningless becuase each lender will interpret the information in different ways.

In other words, my money saving tips of the day are:

    - never to pay for these services

    - make sure all your bills and credit commitments are paid on time

    - try saving more and borrowing less

    I agree with o4u.

If you need to check your credit file, order the £2 statutory ones from all three credit reference agencies and don't be fooled into buying one CRA's "score." They don't have half the information lenders use when deciding on a credit application, such as length of employment, income, how long with bank etc.

the score is meaningless. Worth checking to see if you have any missed payments etc though.
As per the other thread though the main issue is likely to be your employment status/length of time

Not exactly true, they are a service for which payment is given after usage...but have chosen not to use CRA's at this stage.

ROLFLMAO....crafty? Yeah, right...you and the other 1000 customers per day.
    the score is meaningless.
Not necessarily, but sometimes it's not a guarranteed indicator...eg if you don't bother giving all your addresses, or you think that having a score in the good category with a Bankrupcy still attached means you will be greeted with open arms by the banks. On the other hand if you have a 999, it usually means you'd be fine

Here's one of the many "999 but declined" threads, this one from the CC board. Mr Herring's comments are particularly good;-
