That’s not a white lie, that’s a raven black one. Sorry, I find that inexcusable. I had a death in the family recently.
Sorry for your loss, but to wish it upon someone else?, I think your words are in-excusable also.0 -
I agree with bengal-stripe - some things are too serious to be lied about. I once had to cancel an appointment because of a death in the family. It would be terrible in those circumstances to be treated with suspicion because it had become a corny excuse.
I also think it's irresponsible to advise someone to skip a work-related event. The original post made it seem like Tan's presence was required and while of course parties are 'optional', refusing to go when she'd been specifically asked could look like a bad attitude and jeopardise her job or potential promotion etc. We can make these decisions on our own behalf but encouraging someone without knowing the full circumstances feels irresponsible to me.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620 -
Id "accidentally" lose my purse if i was looking for an excuse.
without a purse you cant get the bus, or pay for the meal. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
Just to update you i faked a illness and didnt go - i felt bad about it but i only had £30 to spend and from what my manager told me the next day they spent lots on the wine list which no way could i have afforded
also i just didnt feel comftable being me, im not used to being oveweight and hate how i look at the moment which adds to my depression so i think i made the right decision in the end for me
