Hi
I thought as I couldn't see one on here I would start a discussion thread about the free gift glitch where it was discovered you could get all 3 gifts on offer of a shower gel, body lotion/puree and body butter for £20, which was less than the minimum spend of £23 for just the £4 shower gel as well as the Buy 2 get 1 free/342 offer. I thought it would be of interest to discuss what products we have tried from our purchases (as well as those bought with the glitches), our opinions and wether we would buy again or not.
Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel
Price: £4 (free in glitch).
Size:250ml
Would I buy again?: Definitely!
This shower gel is absolutely gorgeous! The smell lasts all day both on myself and in my bathroom! This is a definite fave of mine that I will buy again....I can't believe I didn't find it earlier and will snap up the large size bottle when the offers for the big sizes comes back:)
Pink Grapefruit Body Puree:
Price:£8 (free in glitch)
Size: 250ml
Would I buy again?: Yes
Just like the PG shower gel this body puree smells gorgeous. Both are quite strong but not overpowering, but as I did not wear perfume when using both products I don't know if it would be too overpowering. The puree is light and sinks in well but did feel a bit sticky. I have not used it since to see if this was just a one-off but that is only cos I wanted to try other BS products.
Strawberry Shower Gel
Price:£4 (free in glitch)
Size:250ml
Would I buy again?: No.
At first the smell was lovely and smelt of strawberries, but when using it in the shower it felt a bit sickly. Lathers well tho and a little goes a long way.
Strawberry Body Puree:
Price:£8 (free in glitch).
Size:250ml
Would I buy again?: NO
Having first enjoyed the smell of the strawberry shower gel i thought I would buy the puree to accompany it. I'm afraid I don't have any positive remarks to say about it. The puree is very thick and at first would not go through the pump. I removed the pump from the bottle and my nostrils were overpowered by the smell:( It really is a lot stronger than the lightly fragranced shower gel and feels very sticky on the skin.
Satsuma Shower Gel:
Price:£4 (free)
Size:250ml
Would I buy again?: Yes
This is a fave of mine too, the smell is good enough to eat and you can almost taste the satsumas, tangy! It really wakes you up in the morning and last for ages too as a little goes a long way. I also have tho 750ml bottle. Highly recommended.
Satsuma Body Butter
Price:£12.50 (free)
Size:200ml
Would I buy again?: Yes!
The smell of this body butter is divine and a compliment to the shower gel. Its not greasy like some of the BS butters but it does need a bit of rubbing in as it does not absorb quickly so I'd advise to use it sparingly. I also have the 400ml of this butter.
OK I could go on as I have used a few more products from this offer but I don't want to hog this thread and want others to share their thoughts:)

I have tried a number of Body Shop products since Christmas. I have loved the Morrocan Rose range for some time, after seing a promotion in store. My budget doesn't run to £12 for a body butter though. Thanks to the ladies on Grabbit I have been able to stock up.
Amongst my recent purchases were vanilla body mist which I don't like, finding it rather sickly smelling. It is for my teenage daughter so she will probably like it because she often likes scents I don't.
I love the pink grapefruit range and also the lemon range, I haven't tried the body puree yet but find the body butter and the shower gel really refreshing.
I am not a fan of the shea butter scent finding it too heavily scented for my liking but then again my daughter likes it.
My big find has to be the hemp handcream. In the summer I suffer from atopic dermatitis on my hands. It always flares up in the summer to the extent that my hands go very dry and itchy and the skin starts to peel. This year after it started to flare up, I started using hemp handcream and there is no itchiness, any dryness is soon soothed by the cream and no sign of my skin peeling either.
I put a blob on and rub it in when I remember through the day and put a big blob on before I go to sleep at night. The only drawback is the smell. I have got used to the smell but it is quite stong and not the most pleasant of scents.0 -
I've not used body shop stuff in years but was persuaded when this glitch popped up! My goodies were:-
Satsuma body butter - absolutely divine, leaves my skin feeling lovely soft and smells great. Having been in store to smell all the body butters before ordering, I think this is the nicest!
Satsuma shower gel - as above, smell is gorgeous and it goes a long way.
Pink grapefruit shower gel - smells lovely but not used yet.
Passionfruit body scrub - this stuff goes quite far and leaves skin feeling soft, the smell is good too.
Macadamia straightening balm - my hair has a mind of its own and this stuff helps keep it under control which is fab, it also smells really nice!
Lemon whip body lotion - I've been alternating between this and the body butter for after a bath/shower. The smell is really fresh and the lotion rubs in easily, and my skin feels soft after use.0 -
There's also 30% off in store on thursday and online at the moment. I get the feeling that The Body Shop are not doing very well because they always seem to have offers on! Not often in the stores, but nearly always online. I seem to get emails a couple of days a week with the next offer. I do like some of their things, it is a bit of a hit and miss. I like the carrot face cream which they brought back. I really like the Neroli Jasmin body spray and the body butters are good if on offer at christmas or online but wouldn't pay the full price for them. They seem to be coming out with a duo body butter which seems a bit weird split sections of cream meant for dry and normal areas of skin in the same tub. I love the almond shower gel, pity they discontinued it but lucky I stocked up in the Clarks village outlet store in Street a couple months ago. Best time to buy is in Jan after christmas or after one of their nationwide sales in store and online. It's a pity the formaulas of the products changed a lot since they were bought by L'oreal. The ingredients are anything but natural, maybe one or two out of the whole list. Love the Moroccan body butter too.. isnt there a free £5 giftcard with this month's issue of InStyle.. get the morrocan rose small size giftset.. it includes a mini body butter, shower gift and shower puff.. it's really nice. I got it once with a £5 telegraph voucher.0

So far i've not tried the Lemon range as I was afraid it might smell like cleaner lol, but no-one on here has said that yet! Maybe I should start with the hand wash and see if I like it.....really can't buy any more shower gel yet lol!!!0

Coconut Body Butter
Price: £12.50 (free in glitch).
Size:200ml
Would I buy again?: No
I find this butter very thick in consistency and so does not absorb easily and is also very greasy on parts of my body....yet, as I hate waste I feel compelled to use it up lol. Lovely coconut smell.0 -
Thanks for pointing this out to me Cath!
I love the PINK GRAPEFRUIT - nice and zingy.
Disappointed with the GREEN APPLE shower gel - not very appley at all - which I had expected as usually their fruit stuff very strong.
Like the RASPBERRY gel though - reminds me of raspberry lollies as a child.
Am trying to keep my stash for pressies but also want to sample everything as well!!Great opportunities to help others seldom come, but small ones surround us every day. -- Sally Koch0 -
Coconut Milk Body lotion Spray
Price: £8
Size:250ml
Would I buy again?: No
This lotion has a light consistency and nice coconut smell, but I dislike that you have to either spray it on your skin or into your hand, its a bit tedious and not much comes out with one spray. Also not suitable for very dry skin.0
