Hi all
Just popping in to declare NSD 8 :j
And that makes it 3 in a row too:D:D
Tomorrow I go for 4 in a row and 9 in total - one short of my target but the way it was going earlier in the month I'm stunned I'm even this close!DFW Nerd Club # 13640 -
Hi everyone!
Just popping in to report NSD 9 and 10 for today and yesterday, so that's my target met
Hope you all manage to get your targets, see you in July!0 -
My weary wee legs! Marched the 3.75 miles into city centre in 55 minutes, went to my appointment and then sauntered the same back again. Oh my, 26.2 miles is going to be some achievement!!!
However, it means my NSD is still intact and I now have to go to the library... but the parking will be free now.
How I will stay awake to study is another matter (I definitely won't manage it in the flat, hence the trip to the library)
So I shall proclaim NSD 15 - my target for the month is met! :jJan10: 28,315.81 Jan11: 18,015.32 Jan12: 7,682.58 Jan13: 2,987.73 Current debt: 1,225.55

Evening all!
Rock_cakes - fingers and toes crossed about the interview
Spoony - no need to apologise, you do a fab job and you are entitled to a life outside of us.
Wouldbe... - well done on the NSD, and making something to eat out of what you have in, its amazing what can be found in an 'empty' cupboard when you put your mind to it.
Well it looks as if 14 is going to be my final total for June as total was another spendy.
I popped into SD for a looksy at the offer items in there - didn't seem to be much after my extensive list making last night. A few Dove handwashes though I didn't get any, did get two lots of mouthwash (Listerine and Aquafresh for 20p and 49p) some toothpaste for 49p - though it's a liquid one and not sure how long it really lasts vs paste, and some dental floss, supposed to be 20p but checked my receipt and it scanned at 49p - so a good excuse to go back in and have another look tomorrowmy friend was with me today and I didn't really feel I could mooch as much as I'd have liked (I think she was mortified at my list of items to look out for)
Total SD spend 1.67 (with a 29p refund to come)
Then I went into Mr T armed with a list, was on the look for the 7p teabags but none with the correct UPC codes instore, also no chilli nuts that I was looking for BUT I did get Branton Beans on BOGOF (£1.74 for 8 cans in total), two more jars of pasta sauce for 20p each, some freezer bags (ok 87p but these are for freezing my home made chips and stuff, and I didn't think the really cheap value ones were much cop when I bought them before - tore too easily) and a bottle of Lenor on offer for £1....but I had a £1 voucher so FREE to me :j (the SA clocked this and said 'hmmmm...I won't say anything about that' .well what could she say, the vouhers didn't say full price only but she's prob seen others do the same)
Total Mr T spend £3.03 - so not bad. Tempted with some more pasta sauce though as we will use it up.
Off now to think about my target for July - after tomorrow in SD I do need to pull my little socks up with the NSD :AFeb 2015 NSD Challenge 8/12JAN NSD 11/16

I had a course at work today that was supposed to run from 9 until 5, but right from the start the chap said he reckoned we'd be done and dusted by 4 at the latest as there were only 2 of us there and we both 'appeared more than competent'. The main activities of the afternoon were two test papers - a numeracy one we were allowed up to 1.25hrs to complete, and a 'communications' one (equivalent of English - more comprehension than language) that we could have an hour for. I completed both of them in a total of 35 minutes flat (and passed with 40/40 on numeracy and 39/40 on the other - pass rate being 23/40 on each), so was clocked out at 2:10pm.
Came home, made a brew, changed into my decorating scruffs, and coloured my hair - then looked at it and wondered why I'd thought it such a clever idea  but I knew my relief would still be in work (and I trust her opinions), so I decided to wander down and see if I could find something for tea (and some munchies - successful on both counts) which made it another spend day for me.....
Walked past the meat and fish counter, and the butcher on duty did a double-take as he realised it was me - announcing (without thinking) 'you look different', and then changing it to 'you look nice'He's one who always says hello (and takes the 'p' out of me, so not just one who sees me around in passing). I then wandered to the bakery and said hello to my relief while she had her back to me, and as she turned around to respond she stopped mid-greeting in surprise. but I think it caught them both a bit unawares that I was in a dress as well, as I only very rarely turn up in anything other than uniform, jeans or running clobbers
Anyway she'd just finished telling me my hair looks nice (and takes several years off me) when the butcher came over to make a comment about it to her, so that was two thumbs up
Went through a checkout being run by someone I don't know, but as I was walking out the lass running the self-serve ones did a double take - then informed I was looking really nice and that she loved my hair (before asking if I was on my way to anywhere nice, to which I replied 'just home'!). But between heading for the checkouts and leaving the store I was totally blanked by at least two people who always say hello to me, including one who always asks what I'm doing and when I'm next in (he's a bit 'simple' - not a term I like, but can't think of a nicer term to use - and doesn't seem capable of asking anything else), so I'm now wondering how many more people are going to fail to recognise me in the next week especially if I'm not in uniform which means my hair's tied up and under a baseball cap :rotfl:
On my way home I bumped into the mother of a lass who was in the pre-school class when I did my voluntary work, and (having done a double take as she realised who it was saying hello to her) I got much the same comments from her - so I think I'm a bit happier with the colour now
Still got the best part of 3 days until my chap sees it though, so hopefully I'll be used to it myself by then. Been texting him since he got in from work, and he asked what I'd done with my time after an early clock-off so I told him I've coloured it - and also told him I've been down to work tonight as he said I'd probably find no-one recognises me tomorrow. He made a comment about me preferring it to my grey, and when I responded that I don't know 'cos I'm used to my grey and not this he just teased me for a while - but I think he's chuffed to pieces I've done it
bottleofred - every time I see your name I fail to read it as "bottle of red" the first time, and it always comes out in my head as "bottle o' fred"Cheryl0 -
