Fete Stall Ideas for a charity event

Hi

My husband works for a charity and he is also part a volunteer group for the charity so they are always on the lookout for new ideas to raise money.

This year they are planning to have a fete and are trying to come up with ideas for stalls. Their ideas so far are:-

Rafflle
Bouncy Castle
Beat the Goalie
Barbecue
Tea/Coffee
Tombola - chocolate
Hook a duck

I thought they could have a sweet stall perhaps pick and mix and maybe some ready made bags not sure what to put in them yet or the cheapest place to buy sweets - any ideas would be great.

It is the first time they have done anything like this so any help or ideas would wonderful.

They also thought they would have a small carboot sale to try and help attract people.

I look forward to your ideas

    Is it a summer fete?

I always remember when I was younger, we had a fate every year in our village as part of the church.

    - They did things like lucky dips where you had ready wrapped small gifts the kind of thing you buy at pound land and the kids pick one out.
    - One game also was an egg game where there were a number of eggs that were hollowed out and you had to find one of them and then you won a prize
    - BBQ is always a good idea like you have already said
    - Depending on funds you could maybe get a dunking game where one person sits on a seat and you have to hit a button with a ball - the lifeboat did it recently at a fete we went to, i obviously don't know how you would go about arranging this as they are a charity of their own.

    HTH in some way

Nice easy one that costs nothing. Get a bucket, fill it with water. Put a pound coin at the bottom of the bucket. Charge 10p to tave a go. You have to drop the 10p in the water and try and cover the pound. If you do you win the pound. It can be done, but 80% of the time it doesn't work. You'd be amazed how much you make!
Another idea is collect egg shells for a few weeks. Fill a cardboard box with sawdust. Put half egg shells in the box along with one hard-boiled egg. Charge 10p to find the whole egg. You get one go at picking an egg. If you find the egg you win 20p. Kids love this one. When the whole egg is discovered, put the box under the table and swap the whole egg around with the half ones so it makes it difficult!
Hope this helps, I have used these games for years with my Guides and always got quite a bit of money.

How about a second hand book stall (from donations).
    Home made cakes/biscuits to sell.
If doing sweets stall cheapest supply prob at a cash and carry - see if anyone at the charity holds a members card.
Popular at our school is 'pound in a bucket'. Couple of volunteers go around the crowd with a bucket and book of raffle tickets. Idea is for the customer to put a pound in the bucket and is given a raffle ticket. At the end of the fete, someone draws a raffle ticket out and whoever has the corresponding ticket wins half of whats in the bucket - rest goes to the charity.
    Good luck

Have a standard 6' step ladder. On each step you place a container. To have a go, you get the same number of balls/bean bags as there are containers. To win a prize you must throw a ball/bag into each container. To increase the degree of difficulty, make the containers smaller as they go up the ladder. Ping pong balls will be harder to use than bean bags. Experiment to see what suits you best.

    Lucky Socks
You will need a Portable Clothes Hoist and hundreds of used socks! The idea is to set up your Hoist and then peg the socks to the lines.
You can run this stall in a couple of ways. You can let your customers actually select a sock, which will have a lucky number inside, or you can number each sock and let your customers buy tickets, like tombola.
You could put your prize inside the sock - mini bars of chocolates, scratch it tickets, small toys - or you could have the lucky ticket inside the sock that corresponds to your prize table.
Maybe your local hardware store would generously donate the Hoist and it could be the major prize? Alternatively, you can string up lines using rope.
Ask for donations of socks to use on the stall.

    Lucky Plate
Fill a paddling pool with water and float a small china plate in the water. Put a £2 coin in the plate. Draw a line about 2 metres from the pool. If you can throw a 20pence piece onto the plate, you win the prize. Practice as you set up the stall to decide the best distance for the line. The 20p coins will usually bounce off the plate.
