Only owe the OH money which will be paid off soon!
Have been making monthy overpayments of £200 since starting this thread, (think that is 3 months now?) and its like I haven't even noticed not having this in my account, which is great!
Well done Kei, I great once you get used to making the payments, I treat mine like a bill to keep myself paying, although it a nice bill to pay each month as it actually saves you money in the long run.
You are doing really well. It will become addictive, cant remember how many friends and family i have bored hours on end talking about how many ways i can find to overpay.Balance as at Dec 2010 £88,000Balance as at Oct 2013 £0Original MF date 01.05.2027 :mad:Morgage free as of 24/10/2013 (13.5 years early) :j0 -
Just rang up, total outstanding balance is £149,514.17 so a teeny bit less than I thought (£150,000), and my £200 payment went through ok yesterday so I will continue to make payments online.
That's not a teeny bit less, thats a significant milestone to hit!!!!
Just aim now to keep knocking them down as you go and you will see a big change, get yourself a spreadsheet together that allows you to see when you will hit the significant milestones and don't forget to live a little, especially as you hit the significant ones!RosieTiger - Highest £242,000 Feb 2004

Well done Kei :j. I hope you're going to put your CC & OD payments towards your OP's now
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Thanks for all the posts of support! Gally girl I will start overpaying more soon, when I have paid my OH back the bit of money I owe. Even £200 is going to make such a difference though I still can't believe it!
Will work on a spreadsheet rosie tiger, should be a big motivator.
Emsky I treat it like a bill too, I pay out all the house bills first then pay the £200 seperately when I am sure that I have covered everything else for the month, just in case something happens and I cant afford it. Dont want to go in the OD again that would be a step backwards!
