Can anyone recommend a good sugar thermometer? I want to get one so I can make fudge, toffee, jam and (my personal favourite) peanut brittle for people's christmas presents. Which are best - should I invest in a digital one or get a regular graded OS one?
Only when the last tree has died and the last river has been poisoned and the last fish has been caught will we realise that we cannot eat money.

Mine is brass I think and came from robert Dyas years ago.
Some of the markings are hard to read now though.
One thing I really would like different about it,is a hook of some kind so that I can hang it over the side of the preserving pan.Its a pain having to hold it while stirring but it slips down into the jam if I dont. That might be something to look out for when buying a new one.0
