Thanks to a friend, I found Manuka Honey Active 10+ is in Aldi for just £3.99 for a 250g jar. Absolute bargain.

(At least, it was £3.99 in mine & her Aldi's in Manchester, I would hope its the same price elsewhere!)

Yes same in Huddersfield and Wakefield. I think it is to be a stock item according to the assistant. They had it as a special last year (a slightly bigger jar) - I've just finished my last jar so I was hoping they would repeat the offer.

£9.59 for 250g jar of 10+ Manuka in Holland and Barrett.

That is a great price, thank you for posting. Can I ask if your jar has the UMF mark?

I went to Aldi's yesterday and bought some Manuka honey and usually buy from Marks and Spencer and pay for a 300g jar £10. Also that jar has a UMF rating of 10 plus which is the same as Aldi.

its not got a ufm mark - and in my opinion - it doesn't taste teh same...

    heres some interesting blurb :

What is the Best Type of Manuka Honey?

When purchasing Manuka Honey, look for the UMF registered trademark on the label. For example, if the label on the jar of Manuka Honey says "UMF® 10" then you can be sure that the honey was tested in a laboratory for its antibacterial potency. If the label merely states "Active 10" it may mean that the company does not have the legal right to list the UMF trademark on the label which means that it's not regulated by the Active Manuka Honey Association in New Zealand. Registered members of the AMHA are required to conduct laboratory tests on each bach of Manuka Honey to determine the potency. Also look for a license number on the label.

    * At this particular point in time, Manuka Honey is only found in New Zealand and certain parts of Australia. If a particular brand of Manuka Honey is not from New Zealand, it is possible that their Manuka Honey is supplied by a bee farm in New Zealand. If the Manuka Honey is not a product of New Zealand, its healing qualities may be questionable.
  • Tigsly - Thanks for your info. I bought some today as it was less than half the price of Holland and Barrett but having just tasted it, I'm really unsure whether it is actually Manuka honey. I might email Aldi and see what they say about it.

Just bought some Rowse active 10+ Manuka honey for my wife who is recovering from surgery/chemo. This week it's 20% off in Waitrose and Tesco -for 340g it's £9.49. In Waitrose the Rowse 15+ Manuka is £11.98 at the moment - normal price (and at Tesco £14.98)
  • Dear all thanks for the information especially, tigsly. I did buy this honey for £3.99 a few days ago for the first time from Aldi, because it says Raw & Unpasteurized .....Honey. In case you didn't know most Honey in the supermarket are not raw or unpasteurized (Commercial Honey) which greatly reduces the medicinal qualities of the honey through the heating process. You can easily find out about this online. Asda sells Raw & Unpasteurized honey from the New Zealand Honey Co (£2.99)! Holland and Barrett also have this one and other Raw & Unpasteurized honey.
The Aldi Manuka honey does not have the UMF mark though so this is worth checking out.
