Lots of veal calves are raised in crates in Europe. British pink veal has good welfare standards, though. The male calves are a byproduct of the dairy industry - if they're not raised for meat, most will be shot very young.
  • Apparently it roasts fine - turned out really tender and tasty :D

I have a veal brisket and want to make the most of it rather than just plain roasting. Any suggestions please?
  • Keep for a stir-fry, sandwiches/wraps, midweek meal with chips and veg.
