Hello!
Have been reducing my debt for a while but still a way to go. Started the year with over £90,000 non mortgage debt. Scary but refused to run away from it. No way was I taking the option of bankruptcy or IVA without it being last resort.
So.....have reduced it by about a half - with some serious hard work and some money inherited following the sad loss of my Dad last year. Feel as though I owe it to him to keep on reducing the debt so the target for the nex year is to reduce it by £10,000.
The aim is to be debt free within 5 years. I CAN DO IT.:j :j :j
I am already claiming £000's from the Halifax for bank charges paid out in the last three years. Will let you know how I get on.

I went to school in Yarmouth!!
Now living just south of Norwich.
When I am debt free I am celebrating with Chips of Yarmouth Market. Something I have not had since I was a kid but the memory is still with me!
(I think that is the only good thing I can remember about the town!!)
Thanks for the support. I will keep you posted with the progress I make!

Hi
Would just like to wish you lots of luck. Myself and my partner have debts of about £120,000 excluding a mortgage and so I know what its like to struggle to repay it. Like you we have not opted for bankruptcy or an IVA so its simply going to be a long slog to pay it all back!!!
This site is wonderful though and should give you lots of tips along the way!0 -
Nice to know I am not the only one at around the £100k mark!
