Suit hire?

Options
:hello:

My mate's 40th birthday bash approaches. He wants a black tie do. :(

I hate suits. Flippin' black tie?

So any ideas as to where I can cheaply hire all the clobber I haven't got, i.e. all of it except shoes?

Thanks,
MBE

I'm in Walsall if anyone knows somewhere close.
If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.

Try local chaity shops often have dinner jackets/suits,(esp in your nearest posh area!), which in the nature of such things, proabbly haven't been worn much. It can even work out cheaper to buy one and have it altered than to hire for an evening...then you can always go to fancy dress parties as James Bond...or a waiter!
Just because somebody is certain doesn't mean they are right!

My son bought a suit at Asda for about £70. Tuxedo jacket was about £50 I think and trousers about £20. He found it cheaper than hiring one and he wasn't as bothered if it got wrecked :rotfl:

    Just found a jacket for £25 & £14 for trousers & £7 for shirt & bow tie - even better:j

Ruddy hell! That's a good deal! :T

What size jacket do I need? :o
I take an XL in T-shirts, if that helps? :p

Does 44' long sound about right? I'm 6'3" and about 16 stone.

My son takes XXL in t-shirts and he bought a 46" jacket. He's only 5' 6" though so he bought a regular one, but probably would have been better with a short one to be honest. I would think a 44" long would be OK for you.
