dfw changed the way I think.

Its changed my life lol.

I need a new mobile - one that doesnt cut me off in the middle of calls with offers of work. I'm with virgin mobile so

I go through quidco to virgin nd find anice payg mobile. Its 79.99 and I wont pay that.

I then registered as a virgin customer and the same phone goes down to £69.99. better I say!!

then I see that I can get another £10 towards an upgrade, so I take this its now 59.99

then I see theyre offering me £45 in call credits over the next 7 months ( i wouldnt use morethan 5 mnth anyway so that s good.

so thats down now to 14.99 + 2.99 delivery.

then quidco are tracking it for £8

so my nice shiny new la de da phone is now costing me £9.99.

Before I'd have just paid the £79.99 and had done with it. Now I check out everything and get every discount going. lol

how have you changed?

pudds

of and I ordered it late on friday and it was delivered at 9.30am on saturday.

I am NOT, nor do I profess to be, a Qualified Debt Adviser. I have made MANY mistakes and have OFTEN been the unwitting victim of the the shamefull tactics of the Financial Industry.
If any of my experiences, or the knowledge that I have gained from those experiences, can help anyone who finds themselves in similar circumstances, then my experiences have not been in vain.

  • I agree - this site has changed the way that I think as well. I always used to think I was a canny shopper (my problem being that I shopped too much!)But I have learned such a lot from this site. Last week I went to B&Q to "research" my Dad's birthday present. The old me would have bought it there and then but instead I made a note of make and model number, searched for the cheapest price, went to Pigsback to make the purchase (earning piggy points for future CD purchases), used a discount voucher from other forum on this site so reducing the price by £10 and finally paid using my M&S card thus earning loyalty points (card will of course be paid off in full). Oh and I got free postage and it is being delivered direct to Dad so saving me the cost of postage. Not quite as impressive a story as the OP but taking everything into account I saved 40% on the B&Q price so am a very happy bunny.

I definately shop around and always have for the best bargains. Even before my LBM i used to do it it's just that now they have become even more refined! However it is a bit of 'give and take'. Last week I really needed to get hold of a book as quickly as possible for a course I am taking. No library in the county had the book, and a specialist website had it for a bargain price, however when I phoned they said it would not be sent until after xmas. I chose to buy from Amazon in the end for full price but not before I had gone via the Nectar website and it came the next day.
