You also need to check on the Registry Trust website to see if there has been a CCJ obtained for this debt, given the largish ammount, I wouldn't be suprised.

If they have a CCJ, the debt can never go barred.

They would of had to obtained the CCJ within the 5 year period of the original Default would they not? There is no CCJ against me on my credit report

I just done the search on http://www.trustonline.org.uk/ and selected all areas, paid the £30 and it came back as "NOTHING REGISTERED" in all areas. Scotland, England, Wales, Isle Of Man......etc

You should be ok then, they are just chancing their arm and will try and spook you into payment...tell the jakeys to take a run and jump
