Ever had a text asking for your full postal address?

I received last night at around 9 pm a text from a mobile No (078...) asking for my full postal address, but nothing else was mentionned there. Any idea if that's a competition? what would you advise?
Thanks
Thanks

Sounds suspicious - you could text back asking who they are? From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings

I was thinking of that, but I am feelling very wary...not sure what it is...lots of comps ask for mobile numbers so that's all I can think of, yet not so sure...£2008 in 2008 member number 820

Have you Googled the whole number? I had a quick look at sites that list hoaxes, and most of the SMS hoaxes that they talked about were chain letter types rather than ones asking for your address. However, I wouldn't send any information until you know who it is.
If you are going to phone them, I wouldn't call from your mobile, but from a landline, maybe your work phone, just to be safe.
I would have thought if it was a competition, they would have called your mobile and asked for the details, rather than text you.If you have nothing constructive to say just move along.0 -
thanks Joho, you are right. I'll try that£2008 in 2008 member number 820

Only after I have texted in a comp entry or freebie - never just out of the blue. It sounds a bit dodgy0 -
Of course it could just be an old friend/ relative just wanting to send a Xmas card - best to stay safe & find out who it is first though. if it is a genuine comp win, they will be able to give you their company name & details and they will know your name & email address etc from the entry. From MSE Martin - Some General Tips On Holiday Home Organisations and Sales Meetings
