Hi,
Any advice appreciated, I few months ago myself and my wife applied for a mortgage with Clydesdale/Yorkshire Bank on the 95% option, we were refused due to 3 late payments on my credit file on a current account. I spoke to the credit company and disputed the late payments as they were incorrect and the bank agreed to change my file so now there are no late payments on any accounts on my file.
Currently my score and my wifes score with CreditExpert is 999 and the payment history is all green. Yesterday we applied for a mortgage with the PostOffice 90% @ 5.99 and today we were refused, they said it was due to something on our credit file but couldn't say what.
The post office have said we can appeal, is it worth appealing or should we look for another deal/speak with a broker?
Thanks

You should get copies of all credit agency files as lenders use any of the three main ones. Call Credit you have so get Experian and Equifax too. Check for errors on them and amend as necessary.
It may well be failing credit scoring rather than anything wrong.
There is a broker only lender doing 90% purchase deals with no credit scoring at the minute which may be worth a look.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it.
