We could just build more homes.
Shame that won't happen. Many will have to compete with the quarter million immigrants arriving each year for a private rental or shared-ownership new build drip fed onto the market to maintain high margins.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. This does not sound like a decent product but it won't be long before the good old 100% mortgages return. We love Sarah O Grady0

Does Sibley welcome 100% mortgages because he wants one ?
Or is he thinking of the welfare of FTBers ?
Or is it what abaxas mentioned ? < I think it's this one.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
Well I'd have to be weary of 100% mortgage anyway, but if it'd also put my parents security at risk, then it's a definite no no in my view.:www: Progress Report :www:
Offer accepted: £107'000
Deposit: £23'000
Mortgage approved for: £84'000
Exchanged: 2/3/16

If these banks would just stop with their gimmick type mortgages and let the natural demand and supply economics kick in then FTBs will be able to soon buy their homes. Homes will ironically be more affordable.
FTB should just be patient.0 -
I think we're going back to a Victorian property landscape where only the well off can buy a home, thanks to overly tight FSA regulation. Oh well, just a widening chasm between the have's and have not's but still, at least we'll have a few thousand less repo's per year, and that has to be more important than a egalitarian society, eh, where millions more would have at least had a stab at ownership.
Conrad, do you really think that the well off have ever had problems getting on the property ladder.
You want to watch the programme on BBC3, Young, rich and house househunting. Turns the stomach, rather.0 -

I want 100% mortgages back because I know it will kick start HPI.
I dont think we will ever see sharp rises but a steady 3-5% a year will do nicely.
I would not have been able to buy my 2nd place without a 100% mortgage.
It worked for me.We love Sarah O Grady0 -

So, because it worked for you, you think it'll work for everyone else ?
Have you ever heard of pyramid schemes ?
This is the answer then, is it ? Ever more "fancy" lending products ? If there is a limited supply of property, ever more "generous" lending will ultimately end in disaster. I suppose that's OK, as long as it isn't you being wiped out.30 Year Challenge : To be 30 years older. Equity : Don't know, don't care much. Savings : That's asking for ridicule.0 -
Nowt wrong with using the English language is there? Maybe I am wrong to think '!!!!!!ing the young' is similar to peadophilia?
I'm happy to use the analogy again as it covers most of the points, the main being the morality of the situation. If however you cant take it, read elsewhere. It's just a shame that people are so easily offended but things.
Maybe I should be offended by more things, but then I would just be a VI.
Seems like you have a worrying fixation with that kind of thing. And it doesn't really seem that you are all that adept at using the English language if you have to use the same bizarre phrase to make your point in almost every post you make.
And I think you'll have to try a lot harder in your attempts at arguing that home ownership and !!!!!philia are the same thing.0
