Can I freeze mustard?

I have a jar of wholegain mustard in the fridge. I use it in various recipes but only about once a week. Is it ok to freeze into ice cubes to the equivalent of tbsp per ice cube? That way I can just pop out one or two depending on recipe as and when needed.

  • Why bother ?? My mustard jars stay in my cupboard for ages ...I have never kept it in the fridge and have never had a problem:o
I have had brain surgery - sorry if I am a little confused sometimes ;)
  • I am sure you can freeze it if you want, but as Sarahlouise says 'why bother?'. Mustard doesn't really go off as it's full of vinegar. I don't refrigerate mine, and I've never had a problem;)

I refrigerate mine, but we don't use a great deal and it lasts for months.

I have had mustard go off.

It was disgusting - but to be honest I think it was a really old jar that had been sat half eaten in the fridge for about 3 years.

The 6 week limit is a bit silly though. It does last a lot longer than that.
