Help with wrapping baskets

I have brought some fairly large baskets to make xmas hamper for people, but I am stuck as how to wrap them
Bit hard to explain but I have got some cellophane I was going to use, but the widith isnt wide enough to allow me to gather it all up and scrunch it at the top and tie with a bow (its on a big roll so length isnt a problem) - like u traditionaly see hampers wrapped, so I am now stuck for ideas how to wrap them

Any ideas/suggestions or pictures how you done yours would be greatly appreciated

  • Hi
Go to the finished baskets thread on here & you will see pics of the finished baskets.
I have also done my best to write instructions on how to wrap them in cellophane. I think my post on wrapping is either on the last page or the one before.

If you have a roll have you tried using two or three long lengths laid across each other in a cross sort of shape so you can add width. Hope that makes sense sorry :D
  • If you have cellophane on a roll the easy way to do it is to roll out a piece about 2 and a half times longer than the item to be wrapped. Fold it over onto itself so it is halved but double. Then put a few staples along the edges to form a "pocket" . You canthen put your hamper into the pocket , draw up the sides, gather at the top and finish off with a bow etc. Lovely and neat and very easy to do. If you want more to gather in just do 3 times bigger than item and it gives you more gathers. I was shown how to do this by a florist who uses this method to wrap floral table decorations etc.

    hope that helps
