People don't learn otherwise. We (the pension forumers) get asked this question 3-4 times a week. Surprsingly, repeating the same answer, gets frustrating.

There are others who wants to learn to budget, then when we tell them to cancel sky etc. they refuse and say they need it. Harsh words get through to people, cuddling up to people doesn't. No-one is rude here apart from maybe Bendix, but he means well, it's just the only way to get through to people on this forum.

2nd that. This is not the forum if you want group hugs. There are a number of us with a lot of experience of the pensions world who try to help on here, but as Lokolo says the cashing in question is probably the most common and we're only human (exept maybe bendix), it does get wearying. I think his 3-4 times a week is an understatement.

A lot of the regulars would like to see a sticky but this board appears to be unmoderated. It would certainly save new posters & regs some time. I'd even volunteer to write the OP on it.

Hopefully nikysg this explains in some measure why you may have found dunston's reply brusque.

Thanks guys - I did have a look but couldn't find anything - obviously my search was fairly pathetic if you get the question that many times...
A sticky sounds like a good idea - plus I had a look at the pensions dictionary link from the TPS website - v helpful!!

This is a small idea of the number of times.

No no no - I just read the tone as being rather brusque that was all. I find the whole business of pensions confusing and felt that the fact I had used incorrect terminology to then be picked up on was a bit harsh! I appreciate the help and support though and wasn't looking for a required answer!

Terminology was important to explain as you were asking about cashing in a pension and said you did it before. You didnt do it before as it was not possible. What you did before was something different.

Doesn't seem to like linking to searches - sorry.

If you want to search yourself, click on "search this forum" and use "cashing" as the search term.
