In need of temporary or flexible income!

Hello All!

I've just finished uni and will likely start in a real grown ups job in the next few months. Until then, I have no pennies...

I'm starting this new thread as I know there will be a lot of people in the same boat as me; I need some extra income for the next few weeks/months but I know employers are not keen on someone who is actively looking for another job. If anyone is aware of any fantastic forms of income that may be suitable then please share! Any help is welcome!

Thanks in advance!

I should add, I've tried the mystery shopping thing and the income was generally a bit unreliable for my needs...

There are lots of employers who want seasonal staff. What businesses near you have a busy summer trade? Pubs / hotels/ wedding venues etc etc
Still looking for the plot...... Anyone seen it???

So I've been actively asking lots of people for ideas, someone suggested leaflet deliveries to me but they weren't sure if there are any companies you go through or if it's just a matter of looking in shop windows. I'm useless at this stuff...

Thanks for the seasonal work suggestion, I used to do that a lot but now I'm inner city and they don't seem to need anyone except for sales... Still giving that a shot though!

I would suggest part-time bar work - I do that as well as my full-time job.

They tend to pay weekly and aren't surprised if someone stays for a few months and then leaves.

Most online things take a while to build income from which isn't of any use if you just need some cash to get you through the next few months.

Inner city would be prime for retail / bars / hotels/ cinema / theatres / cafes / restaurants without much need to travel. Do you have to stay where you are? Where I work many people come to the coast and have a 'working holiday' if they know someone with a caravan on a holiday park etc or in some places just live-in jobs. Could you offer study assistance as a tutor? Have a sift through the boards and i'm sure you will find more ideas.

It's almost impossible to find useful advice on the Internet without being confronted with flashing banner ads and pop-ups urging you to sign up for a get-rich quick scheme. I've tried many Google searches without much success. However, if you ignore the Google ads on this one, there's some fairly useful looking ideas that might get you started:
