Unless I've missed something (and probably have), I'm surprised this isn't being discussed, and I was pointed to it via another forum.
If no-one's discussed it here already, then this'll be very heartening news for anyone who's ever had to deal with HFO - specifically the bottom of the list.
Still, no laughing until they're truly squashed...

Worth a bump...
So for all those who are being harassed and threatened by HFO, usually for debts that aren't theirs, or are statute barred, you must complain to the OFT.0 -
It's been mentioned in other threads here and there is a thread in the parking forum about it.
But yes, good news if the OFT actually go through with what they are "minded" to do.
As said, all the more important to complain about any or all HFO's appalling behaviour now.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

It's at this stage at the moment.
http://www.oft.gov.uk/OFTwork/credit/enforcement-action/Minded to refuse/revoke a licence
Where there are substantiated doubts about a trader's fitness, the OFT issues a 'Minded to Refuse' or 'Minded to Revoke' Notice (MTR). This is a formal notice advising the applicant or licensee that the OFT is minded to refuse to grant them a licence or is minded to revoke their existing licence and inviting them to make representations to an independent OFT adjudicator who will make a decision on the case (see below). The trader retains their licence until the adjudication process and any subsequent appeal is concluded.
So a way to go yet.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

Yep,
Report hfo at every opportunity - it gets noticed in the end.
The same with capquest - report them every time they send out a stat demand with no intent on following it through (they've been in trouble once over this already and are still doing it)Happiness, is a Kebab called Doner.....:heart2::heart2:0 -
As someone who used to work for a Debt Management Company, and used to deal with HFO on a regular basis, this has genuinely made my day. I don't think I can describe my true feelings for these "people" without being banned for profanity.
Let's put it this way, if I worked there, I'd need to remove all the mirrors from my house as I wouldn't be able to look into them and see the reflection.
And if HFO are reading this, then maybe claiming that the OFT Debt Collection Guidelines were "trash" wasn't the best move, was it. Yes, that is what they said to me. How they could sleep at night is beyond me.
Never been a more deserving bunch to find themselves on the employment scrapheap.
In short, I don't care much for them.0 -
Couple more threads on them now.
HFO need to be reported to the OFT for every instance, so bump....Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB
