Hi Money savers

Let me tell you how my Local Library in North Down squanders money

This time of year my local library have the central heating radiators on at full HEAT

To counter act this

The staff have open the windows to cool the building and so waste this expensive resource

How should I STOP this willful waste of OUR/ taxpayers money

It was the same when I was in hospital having our baby. Heat blasting, windows open. And two weeks ago when I took the baby to be weighed at the health visitor's drop in clinic, and even with the windows open the heat was unbearable.

Write to the local paper. That usually gets a response - particularly if they use it as a small feature.

Send a message to Libraries NI Feedback Page.

Or even better - e-mail the Chief Executive. More likely to get a response that way. :)

The staff would probably go out on strike if the heat was turned down.

Forget about complaining. It will do no good. It is Northern Ireland where the public sector is king as 75% of the people deprnd on it. The other 25% make the money and worry about their heating bills.

Not all Civil Servants waste energy! I have a sticky note taped to the TRV on the radiator beside my desk that reads DO NOT SWITCH ON. It has been there for over a year and on the couple of occasions someone has turned on the rad I've turned it straight off again. - even in the worst of winter. It's just not required.

Down the other end of the room there's a witch of a woman who has all the rads on full blast until her staff are almost fainting with the heat but she's the boss and they're too afraid to complain! If she ever smiled she might be a tad warmer but she doesn't do smiles. ;)

My local council offices are the same - except they dont bother to open the windows, they just set up a couple of fans at one end of the room:rotfl: And they leave the lights on all weekend.
