Hi
i was wondering if anybody has their own website?
I have had a few poorly thought out ones in the past, but I have a good idea for one that I have planned out. Its simple, but useful, and there doesnt appear to be one that i can find.
I won't be selling anything initially, but would probably try and get some income from google/affiliates. I wouldnt be doing it for the money anyway really, just something to keep me occupied and its something i am interested in.
So anyway, does anyone have a clue as to the best site i could make my site through.
I dont want anything too technical, but would want to put my own ads on. Will be prepared to pay for the hosting/domain etc etc.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

I totally recommend self hosted Wordpress. It's suitable for all ranges of ability from beginner to developer and has a really intuitive content management system. Templates are free, or you can pay for a customised one. You would need your own hosting but this is really cheap in the scale of things. I use Bluehost and can host unlimited websites on my server space.I'll have some cheese please, bob.0

I've got a bunch of websites - I wanted to learn php and mysql and the easiest way was to sign up to a hosting package and put some sites out there. I've not really monetised any of them as yet, so couldn't tell you if it's "worth it" to you, but given that hosting costs next to nothing, I'd say there's nothing to lose.
A lot of hosting providers offer incentives to people referring new customers and are on affiliate networks. You might be able to save a little on the cost by finding someone who's already a customer and asking them to refer you and split the profit. This obviously works best once you've decided which provider you want to use.
Personally, I'm with 1&1 - they're not the cheapest, but the service is reliable and easy to use.0 -
it works out to be about £20 per month but using the link on here you can get a free month to start.
hope this helps
If you just go to the main page, you can also get one month free.
Right at the bottom of the page
http://thekeywordacademy.com
Basic Membership (free for 30 days, then $29/mo)
Premium Membership (free for 30 days, then $33/mo)
But, as others have said, you can get all that free anyway, so why pay for it.0
