Debt collection agency

A debt collection agency buys a debt and still owns the debt.
Later two searches from two different companies appear on a credit file as well as the original owner.
Are the two other agencies wrong for searching the credit file?
Even if the original company asks another company to collect on their behalf are they allowed to do table one searches when the original one did an unrecorded one?
The company is Lowell and the other two companies are mackenzie hall and Clarity Credit Solutions.
