the years have passed so quickly its time for you to leave
to move on up the ladder and learn more than we can teach
weve had good times youve learnt alot and we are very proud
so say it all and say it loud
we will miss our year six
yet we hope that in the future when you are older then
you will come back and visit us
just think of us as friends
so to each and everyone of you
good luck we wish you well
remember all weve taught you
and make us very proud:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0 -

Now that we are leaving Mrs ****
we can tell you how we feel;
Our heartfelt appreciation
Is deeply felt and so very real.
You're a really great teacher
That's what we all say
And as a Thank You for all your help
we are giving you an A
On second thoughts that's not enough
For helping all of us.
So from me you get this THANK YOU,
As well as this A PLUS
No, that's not enough either
For the teacher that you are
You get this Thank You, an A+
As well as this GOLD STAR
I thought we could print off and laminate a big A, A+ and thank you and big gold star with glitter etc and get the children to sign the back of the star, but need to personalise the peom a bit more before we get the children to learn it.:A :j0 -
why dont you send out letters to past students/parents etc and may be ask them to come in and sign abook for her and a piccie album of past school class pics etc:xmastree:Is loving life right now,yes I am a soppy fool who believes in the simple things in life :xmastree:0

oh thats a good idea, but how do they get the word out? we have only been in area for 9 years so dont know that many people, we could try though, i could ask the year 6's to sort it out i suppose as there are some very enterprising children in the class x:A :j0

Do a search for 'Geronimo'. It was sung by the whole school when DD1 was 4 and every year afterwards at the Leavers' Assembly.
When you sat there remembering your tiny Reception child holding your hand as they skipped home singing it and then it's not just her, but her baby sister that is standing there waiting to leave instead, because she's going to Senior School -
BOO HOO HOO HOO HOOOO HOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! [sob]
There will be children whose parents have grown up round there or who have lots of older siblings, so they could conceivably find someone to help through Facebook.
And don't forget the real power behind the school - the Secretary. She'll know everything and everyone past, present and probably future as well.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
poem went down really well and good time had by all the kids were fantastic and knew most of it and they mimed the rest with the more confident children reading it out xxxx:A :j0
