Good question, I think they are imported from France usually, but this is based purely upon trying to purchase 'sweetened chestnut paste' over here. This stuff, in case it's any use to you: http://www.porterfoods.co.uk/porter/site/category.acds?instanceid=293715&context=294706 so perhaps it might be better enquring with your local 'Fruit and Veg shop' or 'Health Food Shop'.

Or perhaps someone on this site is resident in france and could send you some over? Or perhaps get a copy of 'the sun' for one of those '£10 to france' deals? Take a wheelbarrow, and bring a load back

i am based in greenock (scotland), any idea where i can buy any, apart from tesco or morisson's as they are tiny there ?

Im not based in scotland but have seen them in local greengrocers..have you tried there?
