My mum runs a quilting group in Ilkley on Wednesday evenings. She's done sewing and patchwork too. If its not too far for you PM my your details and I'll pass them on to Mum and she might be able to recommend a closer group to you - or another way to find out if there is one.
Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx

March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.

Have a look at the quilters guild website, they have a list of local groups. For your region the groups are found at

    http://www.quiltersguild.org.uk/index.php?page=107&region=14

If you have a local material shop, ask there. Ours knows all the local groups and has classes for you to join. You might also want to put the Harrogate quilt show in your diary, it's the first weekend in September (I think) and is at the showground. They have stalls, workshops and lots of quilts to view.

  • There's a quilting class on a Friday afternoon at Swarthmore, behind the LGI. It's very cheap and the tutor is very good. It's a pretty small class so she'll show you techniques to suit your level from absolute beginners to quite advanced fiddly things.

    Hi castleton,

As your thread has dropped down the Old Style board I've moved it over to the England board to see if anyone there has any suggestions for you.
