The Chocolate Truffle is a chocolate confection invented by Louis Dufour, a pastry chef from Chamb!ry, in December 1895. While preparing his end-of-the-year creations, this chocolatier realized he was missing some basic ingredients. Too proud to ask a colleague for them, he came up with a brilliant idea: he blended crème fraîche, vanilla and cocoa powder. To make his invention more appealing, he dipped it into melted chocolate and coated it in cocoa powder. The chocolate truffle was born!
This is a sumptuous Gift Box filled with an assortment of four ganache mousse truffles, a signature creation from Gilles Marchal.
- Plain dark chocolate Truffle: full-bodied, intense and bittersweet.
- Raspberry Truffle: dark chocolate ganache with fresh raspberry pulp.
- Orange Truffle: dark chocolate ganache with orange, and a hint of fresh zest.
- Caramel Truffle: milk chocolate ganache, infusion of Bourbon Vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
